About Greypike

We built the firm we wish we’d been able to hire.

We’d lived the problem ourselves. Smaller government contractors get two bad options: enterprise consultants priced for organizations ten times their size, or a pile of tools and a login, with all the actual work still landing on someone who already has a job.

Neither one leaves you secure. Neither one leaves you able to prove it. So we built the alternative — one team that runs both halves, using technology and AI to make a real program affordable at your size, with credentialed practitioners making the calls that need judgment.

We work only with government contractors. That focus is the point: we know what your primes ask for, what your contracting officer expects, and what holds up when someone comes to check.

We work exclusively with government contractors — not a generalist IT shop

Not a C3PAO

We prepare you — we don’t grade you. That separation keeps your evidence defensible.

We exist to keep small contractors in the fight.

Small and mid-sized contractors are the engine of the federal supply chain. They build the components, deliver the specialized work, and support the programs that matter to national security.

They also carry the same threat exposure and the same requirements as a prime, with none of the staff. Being secure shouldn’t demand a full-time team, an enterprise budget, or six months of disruption — and proving it shouldn’t cost more than the contract is worth.

So we built Greypike to close that gap. Technology and AI carry the volume; credentialed practitioners make the calls that need judgment. That combination is what makes a real security and compliance program affordable at your size.

We own the outcome

We don’t hand you a checklist and walk away. We run the function and answer for the result — the monitoring that keeps you defended and the evidence that keeps you eligible.

Straight answers

You’ll know what’s in scope, what isn’t, and what it costs before you sign anything. If you’re not ready, or we’re not the right fit, we tell you that instead.

No lock-in

What we build is yours — your tenant, your accounts, your documentation. If you ever leave, all of it comes with you. We’d rather earn the renewal than hold the keys.

Built for the mission

Greypike is veteran-founded, and the people here who served know exactly what’s at stake. We don’t backdate evidence and we don’t fabricate artifacts — the people depending on your work deserve better than a paper program.

Our story

The mission continues.

The uniform comes off. The mission never ends.

David founded Greypike in late 2024 on a simple conviction: service doesn’t stop when you hang up the uniform. After a career in USAF intelligence and special operations, he saw a new front line forming — not on a battlefield overseas, but inside the networks, supply chains, and small businesses that build and sustain America’s defense capabilities. The Defense Industrial Base had become one of the most contested battlegrounds in the fight to protect the nation. Greypike is how he keeps fighting on it.

Why “Greypike”?

The name reaches back more than five hundred years.

In the 1400s, pikemen stood at the very front of the formation — the first line of defense. Armed with the pike, a spear nearly twenty feet long, they formed a disciplined wall that broke cavalry charges and held the line so everyone behind them could do their job. The pike wasn’t a weapon of glory. It was a weapon of resolve. You planted it, you held your ground, and you did not move.

That pike is our logo, and that legacy is our standard.

The grey is where we operate. Today’s threats don’t announce themselves on open battlefields — they live in the grey space: hybrid, asymmetric, ambiguous, and everywhere at once. Success in modern defense doesn’t happen in black and white. It happens in the grey, where adversaries probe, where requirements meet reality, and where the hard problems live. It’s the ground our veterans operated on in uniform. It’s where this team works best.

A strong defense, planted firmly in the grey. That’s Greypike.

Holding the line

The contractors behind federal programs are under constant attack.

They face nation-state adversaries hunting controlled information, criminal crews working up the supply chain toward bigger targets, and a requirements landscape that grows heavier every year. Most of these companies don’t have a security team. Many don’t know where to start. All of them are essential.

We stand in front of them.

Greypike runs the security and compliance function for those companies — monitoring, testing, and response on one side; controls, evidence, and readiness on the other; secure environments underneath both. We don’t sell checkbox compliance. We build real defenses, the kind that hold when tested.

Widening the line

A mission like this is never held alone.

In 2025, Rob joined, bringing deep cybersecurity expertise and the technology leadership to turn requirements into defensible security. What began as a conversation about compliance quickly became a bigger one: these contractors didn’t just need to pass an assessment — they needed someone to actually defend them, and soon they’d need help adopting AI without opening a new front.

That was a different company than the one David started, and building it was a shared undertaking. Rob came on as co-founder of that broader enterprise — security, compliance, and AI under one roof, with the founder’s operational discipline and the engineering depth to execute it at scale. The mission never changed. The line just got wider.

Veteran-owned. Mission-driven.

Being a veteran-founded, veteran-owned company is more than a label. It means we understand what’s actually at stake when controlled information leaks or a supply chain is compromised. It means we bring operational discipline, not just technical skill. And it means we measure success the way we always have: did we protect the mission?

Five centuries ago, pikemen stood out front so the line would hold. Today, that’s exactly where you’ll find us.

Greypike. First line of defense.

Our team

Built by people who’ve been there.

Our team brings together veterans, cybersecurity professionals, and compliance experts who understand both the mission and the technical requirements.

Our values

What we stand on.

Five centuries ago, pikemen held the line through discipline, not noise. The same principles shape how we work today — every engagement, every environment, every client.

Hold the line

Security isn’t a milestone you pass and forget, and neither is compliance. We plant ourselves in front of your environment and stay there — through audits, through affirmations, through the threats that never stop. We don’t move.

Own the outcome

We don’t hand you a checklist and wish you luck. We take responsibility for the result — the detection, the response, the evidence, the score — and measure ourselves by whether you’re actually secure and actually able to prove it.

Real defense, not checkbox compliance

A passing score that doesn’t stop an adversary isn’t a win. We build defenses that hold when tested — security that protects the mission, with compliance as the proof, not the point.

Operate in the grey

The hard problems don’t live in black and white. They live in the grey — where requirements are ambiguous, scopes are messy, and adversaries probe. It’s the ground our veterans operated on in uniform, and it’s where this team works best.

Who we serve

Built for the contractors the big firms overlook.

Small and mid-sized businesses behind federal programs — defense and civilian — carrying prime-level requirements and prime-level threat exposure without prime-level staff.

Greypike is built for you if…

  • You’re a small or mid-sized government contractor — roughly 10 to 200 employees.
  • You handle CUI, FCI, or export-controlled data on federal contracts.
  • A prime is pushing requirements down to you, or a customer sent a security questionnaire you can’t confidently answer.
  • You have no CISO and no dedicated security staff — it lands on IT, or on you.
  • You owe more than one framework — CMMC, NIST 800-171, SOC 2, HIPAA — and don’t want to rebuild the evidence each time.
  • You want the function run for you, not a pile of tools and a checklist.

We may not be the fit if…

  • You’re a large enterprise with a full in-house security and compliance team.
  • You need a C3PAO to perform your certification assessment — that’s a separate, independent role by design.
  • You want a passing score without changing anything about how you actually operate.
